Ben má podmínku téměř za sebou, a je nesmírně vděčný za vše, co mu život dal: krásnou ženu, roztomilou dcerku a stabilní plat. Jeho život vypadá idylicky ... Jenže pak Ben nečekaně přijde o práci a bláhově se vrátí zpět ke zločinu. Společně se svým bratrem se pustí do krádeže, která bude mít fatální následky. Ben najednou stojí před smrtící injekcí, musí se rozloučit se svou rodinou a připravit se na nejhorší. Nakonec je vše ještě trochu jinak. Ben se probere k vědomí na děsivém psychiatrickém oddělení, kde mu sdělí, že byl najat jako čistič podlahy. Ben nic nechápe a jediné čím si je jistý je jeho láska k manželce a dceři. Musí však přijít na kloub tomu, jestli skutečně unikl smrti z lopaty anebo se stal součástí něčeho mnohem hrozivějšího
