Die besten Freunde Lewis Skolnick und Gilbert Lowell schreiben sie sich am Adams College ein, um Informatik zu studieren. Die beiden Studienanfänger sind Nerds der ersten Stunde, weswegen ihnen die Studentenverbindung der Alpha Betas, die hauptsächlich aus Football-Spielern besteht, das Leben schon bald zur Hölle macht. Nachdem die Alpha Betas bei einer Studentenparty ihr eigenes Verbindungshaus abfackeln, werden ihnen vorübergehend die Behausungen der Erstsemestler angeboten. Diese sollen dafür erstmal auf die Sporthalle ausweichen. Doch so leicht lassen sich Lewis und Gilbert nicht unterkriegen: Zusammen mit den anderen Ausgestoßenen machen sie ein altes, baufälliges Haus in der Umgebung wieder bewohnbar und gründen den Club der Eierköpfe…
