Lawrence Jameson ist ein großer Könner der Verführung. Als perfekter britischer Gentlemen flunkert er den reichen, einsamen Damen der Gesellschaft erfolgreich etwas vor und finanziert sich so als Gentlemanbetrüger seinen Lebensunterhalt. Das geht so lange gut, bis der reichlich ungehobelte Amerikaner Freddie Benson in sein Jagdrevier einbricht, dem es an Stil an allen Ecken und Enden mangelt. Doch Benson läßt sich nicht vertreiben und so muß Jameson den Jungen gewissermaßen anlernen. Doch das gemeinsame große Ziel, die Seifenerbin Janet Walker läßt beide dann gegeneinander zur absoluten Höchstform auflaufen...
