Beschreibung

Zar Peter: Ein großer Feldherr, ein kluger Reformator, ein Staatsmann der Aufklärung. Thronwirren erschüttern Russland im 17. Jahrhundert. Die Mutter und die Halbschwester Peters streiten um die Regentschaft. Halbschwester Sophia siegt, Mutter Natalja und Peter müssen fliehen. Durch Vermittlung des Fürsten Romodanowski werden Peter und sein Halbbruder Iwan zu Zaren gekrönt. 1689 heiratet Peter eine Bojarentochter und wird Alleinherrscher.
