Η απόφασή της όμως να ανοίξει εν μέσω σαρακοστής, δημιουργεί ισχυρές αντιδράσεις με πρώτο τον δήμαρχο της πόλης Comte de Reynaud. Όταν όμως γίνει η αρχή και ο κόσμος δοκιμάσει της δημιουργίες του ζαχαροπλαστείου, τότε τα πάθη σταδιακά απελευθερώνονται και η πόλη αποκτά και πάλι ζωή. Κάθε χαρακτήρας έχει και την ιστορία του, και η Vianne την κατάλληλη σοκολάτα για αυτόν. Μια σοκολάτα που θα φέρει και στην ίδια τον έρωτα, στο πρόσωπο του Rouk.
