Obie è deciso a ritrovarlo e nella non facile impresa lo aiuta Truffa, un negretto appena più grande di lui, ma già avvezzo alla città e alla sua fauna. Truffa ha perduto da tre mesi la madre e del proprio padre ( i genitori si erano lasciati) sa solo che vive in un altro Stato e neppure il domicilio.
