Prediger Bram (Josh Heisler) leitet mit seiner Frau Sarah (Amy Gumenick) eine ländliche, gut besuchte Kirchengemeinde. Gerade wurde ihre erste Tochter geboren. Das Leben scheint für das Paar perfekt zu sein, bis Bram überraschend von verstörenden Visionen heimgesucht wird. Eine davon verfolgt ihn immer wieder: Gott erscheint in Brams Träumen und legt ihm nahe, sein erstgeborenes Kind zu opfern, um das Ende aller Tage zu verhindern. Sarah ist fassungslos und tut alles, um ihren Mann wieder zur Vernunft zu bringen. Doch der Wahnsinn hat bereits von ihm Besitz ergriffen.
