'Mi bello legionario' es una adaptación de la novela "Beau Geste", de Sir Christopher Percival. Es una película cómica que trata la temática de la legión a través de la historia de dos hermanos muy diferentes entre sí. Uno es guapo, valiente y habilidoso; mientras que el otro destaca más bien por su bondad y fragilidad. Ambos se alistan en la legión, donde llevarán a cabo la misión de encontrar una piedra preciosa muy codiciada, y el primero está muy preocupado porque no le ocurra nada a su hermano. Marty Feldman es el encargado de dirigir esta versión cómica de la novela. Aunque la de Percival ha sido adaptada ya en otras ocasiones, esta es la única vez que se trata el tema con un toque de humor y momentos surrealistas. Los personajes principales son interpretados por el propio Marty Feldman, Michael York y Ann-Margret, entre otros.
