Karen Baldwin apprend avec tristesse le décès de sa grand-mère. La jeune femme se rend alors avec son petit ami Jeff dans la maison de sa défunte aïeule. Lorsque le weekend s'achève, Karen décide de rester un peu plus longtemps pour terminer d'y mettre de l'ordre. Karen a en effet pour projet de vendre l'antique demeure.
