L'histoire part sur une sorte de quiproquo. Le jeune et insouciant Wong Fei Hung intervertit le paquet d'un voleur, contenant un sceau impérial, avec le sien contenant du ginseng. Les deux hommes se retrouveront et échangeront leur paquet. Le voleur explique alors à Fei Hung qu'il a voulu sauver le sceau, un des bijoux du patrimoine chinois convoité par des colons anglais, qui font passer diverses oeuvres d'art chinoises en Angleterre....
