Ray Bradstone (Levesque) est le meilleur rouage de l'industrie, mais il est déterminé à aller tout droit et à être le meilleur parent qu'il puisse être avec sa fille, Sally (Winter), et faire amende honorable avec son ex-épouse, Lynne (Gish ). Alors que Ray se démène pour trouver un travail honnête, son ancien équipage de voleurs de banque, dirigé par Phillip Larue (Corrigan), lui offre un dernier emploi. Il accepte d'abord, mais change d'avis à la dernière seconde laissant l'équipage sans chauffeur. Ray décide plutôt de servir de chaperon pour le voyage scolaire de Sally. Lorsque le vol tourne mal, Larue blâme Ray et poursuit l'autobus scolaire jusqu'au Musée d'histoire naturelle de la Nouvelle-Orléans. Ray doit s'occuper de Larue, tout en supervisant le cours de Sally sur ce qui devient l'un des voyages scolaires les plus fous de tous les temps.
