Lors de la visite d'un musée, Wilby Daniels (Tommy Kirk) renverse un plateau où reposent des bagues anciennes. Alors qu'il tente de les remettre en place, l'une d'elles se glisse dans un pli de son pantalon. De retour chez lui, s'apercevant de son « vol » par maladresse, il se met à lire les inscriptions qui se trouvent sur la bague. Il se retrouve aussitôt transformé en chien.
