Description

Milieu du XIXème siècle. Etats-Unis. Onion, un adolescent esclave, devient un membre actif du groupe de militants abolitionnistes menés par John Brown durant le "Bleeding Kansas", une bataille sanglante qui a transformé cet Etat du Midwest en champ de bataille entre les défenseurs et les opposants à l'esclavage. Si le fameux raid sur l’armurerie américaine en 1859 à Harpers Ferry n'a pas suffi à déclencher la révolte attendue des esclaves, l’événement déclencha la guerre de Sécession.
