Egy különc New York-i család tagjainak rá kell döbbenniük arra, hogy mindezidáig rossz elképzeléseik voltak a szerelemről, a kapcsolatokról meg úgy általában az életről. Három testvér, Charlie, Adrian és Michael röptében kénytelen megtanulni, hogy pszichoanalitikus szüleik teljesen hamis elképzelésekkel tömték a fejüket.
