Horton plays a lead role portraying Gene Washington, a wide receiver from LaPorte, Texas that gets recruited to play football for Michigan State in the mid 1960s. The movie tells the groundbreaking story of Duffy Daugherty and his involvement in making the Michigan State Spartans the first team to ever be fully integrated in college football.
