Hemlock Grove; Pennsylvania’nın küçük bir kasabasınında bulunan bir genç kız cesedi ve kızın vahşice öldürülmüş olduğunun anlaşılmasıyla açılışını yapıyor. Cinayet soruşturması sürerken şüpheler iki kişi üzerinde yoğunlaşıyor; arkadaşlarının “kurtadam” olduğuna inandığı 17 yaşındaki bir çingene çocuk Peter, ikincisi ise kasabanın zengin ailesi Godfrey’lerin kendini beğenmiş oğlu Roman. Soruşturma çözümsüzlüğe doğru ilerlerken Roman ve Peter katili kendileri yakalamaya karar veriyorlar ve hem kendi içlerindeki bahsetmekten korktukları gerçeklerle yüzleşiyor hem de sır perdesini yavaş yavaş aralamaya başlıyorlar.

The problem is simple... the writing. From the start the writers didnt know how to introduce the characters properly. They didnt give the viewers an opportunity to get to know them, not even on the most minuscule level, before skipping to another character to introduce them. And the problem continues onward as it moves too fast from one scene to the other, delivering the story in clips that dont allow the audience to become acquainted with anything and leaving them with a meh, I really dont care feeling. The art team was able to set the mood. The actors did their best with what they had. But the writing and direction killed it.
