Its not overtly woke, and that goes a very very long way with me. Its heart warming, there is an old white man who isnt evil (which is a huge change), its uplifting. Its diverse without the plot being about the diversity. Its... gasp... even a show that you can watch with the entire family. I actually appreciate it even if the humor doesnt exactly land, the jokes might fall a little flat, but its still charming enough to muscle through it all and win the audience over. If it stays on this path, the not political heartwarming and charming path, it might find a large audience. Ill watch it. The lack of overt politics alone feeds the escapism.
